November 2010 - Office Space in Oxford City Centre at a Premium
It's not often during a downturn that office rents rise but that's what is happening in Oxford City Centre. The continued pressure on space by tight planning regulations coupled with expansion by the University of Oxford and associated occupiers has led to a shortage of available offices. When supply dwindles rents tend to rise. One of the best office buildings in Oxford city centre is King Charles House which is now owned by Green Templeton College. This building was completed in 1990 during the depths of an earlier recession and has stood the test of time very well to come through to be one of Oxford's most sought after office locations. We have just let 4,000 sq ft of space in the ground floor to the University of Oxford's Endowment Office on a new 10 year lease. We hope they prosper for many more years!
