Toolstation Letting Sparks Interest in New Abingdon Trade Warehouse Scheme

Newbury based property company Dunmoore Group, advised by leading commercial property agents Bartlett Properties and VSL & Partners, reports the first letting on phase one of a new trade counter development known as Nuffield Trade Park in Abingdon.

Toolstation (part of the Travis Perkins Group) supplies tools and accessories to the building trade and has taken a 10 year lease on Unit 9A at the new scheme. The unit, which totals 4,399 sq ft, has been stripped back to shell and refurbished as new, benefiting from a new triple skin composite roof, dedicated glazed trade counter entrance, roller shutter door, new cladding and highly prominent signage with large yard and customer parking.

George Alcock of Dunmoore Group says: “There is strong interest in the units as occupiers seek to take advantage of the scheme’s fantastic prominence to the A34, good internal height and high specification finish. We are hoping to announce some other well-known brands as occupiers shortly but are delighted to have secured Toolstation as our first tenant, which is a great endorsement of the development”.

Philip MacLauchlan at Adept Consultancy acted for Toolstation and adds: “Toolstation are continuing to expand rapidly throughout the UK and Nuffield Trade Park’s frontage to the A34 coupled with a strong local trade market was the perfect fit for the brand.”

The remainder of the scheme provides a further 3 trade counter units of circa 4,500 sq ft, all of which are finished to the same high specification, together with a separate showroom and large yard likely to suit a wide range of businesses, representing an opportunity that is rarely available within the Oxfordshire market.
